Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a practice that involves immersing oneself in nature, particularly in forests, for the purpose of improving one's mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Forest bathing doesn't involve strenuous physical activity but rather encourages individuals to engage their senses and be present in the natural environment. It typically involves leisurely walks through forests, mindful observation of nature, deep breathing, and sometimes meditation. The practice is believed to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost mood, increase energy levels, and enhance overall feelings of well-being. Numerous scientific studies have shown the various health benefits associated with spending time in nature, and forest bathing has gained popularity worldwide as a way to reconnect with the natural world and promote holistic health.
Join a trained forest therapy guide at the Ijams Homesite for this meaningful, restorative experience in nature.
